Anne Donovan Interview

I first met Anne Donovan in 2003 during the process of putting together The Knuckle End, an anthology of work by writers from Glasgow University’s Edwin Morgan Centre for Creative Writing Masters course. On first meeting she is naturally reserved and I’ve read she’s resolutely unwilling to indulge journalists’ insatiable appetite for personal information. But when I interviewed her in February 2008, she was both eloquent and candid about her writing; the beginnings of her writing career, her working processes, the importance she places on voice, the early success she’s enjoyed. It was a hugely enjoyable and instructive conversation. I hope you enjoy it too.

And many thanks to Anne for her time.
